Today, Bravo announced a new iteration of the popular Below Deck franchise. Instead of hitting the open water with a motor yacht, Below Deck Sailing Yacht will document a new crew aboard the foot-long sailing yacht Parsifal III. Additional crew members—including Jenna MacGillivray , Byron Hissey , Madison Stalker , Georgia Grobler and Parker McCown —will be tasked with maneuvering the sails during high winds, as well as navigating the demands of guests. While their route on the Ionian Sea may be a sailing lover’s paradise, the Parsifal crew will have to power through the intense physicality of yacht sailing. Thankfully, this group of young, attractive and adventurous yachties are ready to work hard—and play even harder. Will this couple make it through their time at sea? Find out when Below Deck Sailing Yacht premieres in For a closer look at Below Deck Sailing Yacht ‘s impressive crew, be sure to look through the images below!

It is illegal to dump flares at sea, illegal to dump them on land and illegal to let them off in anything other than an emergency. Ultimately the responsibility for the safe disposal of out of date flares rests with their owner. The eventual disposal of TEP must become part of your buying decision and who you buy them from. Clearly this is not possible if you buy them online and you should bear this in mind. A local life raft service agent may also be able to take your out of date flares from you as they deal with the disposal of such items on a regular basis.
It is also worth checking if your local port or marina will accept them. They may have disposal arrangements. You can also check with the local police or fire brigade. TEP are hazardous goods not hazardous waste, there is therefore no requirement for councils to provide facilities for disposal, however some may and you should check with your local authority.

There are big boats and little boats, weekend cruises and longer passages in UK or foreign waters, but whatever you choose; life at sea or on the river offers an adventure to remember. Many blind and partially sighted people are naturally skilled at sailing on the wind — imagine being at the helm and in control of the boat, nudging the wheel back or forth as you feel the wind shift across your face!
Over the years have had many cracking weeks of sailing, and been pioneers in empowering visually impaired sailors. Please refresh the page and retry. T he global cruise industry has been hit hard by the Covid pandemic. Amid the challenges of getting passengers and crew home, ships have been left to float empty when they should have been full of people enjoying holidays at sea. This week saw the Norwegian cruise line, Hurtigruten, halt expedition cruises after at least 40 crew members and several guests aboard Roald Amundsen tested positive for Covid And while many countries are beginning to open up to tourism — and Europe is seeing a slow resumption of cruising — many lines continue to delay their returns.
Updated guidance from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in July dealt a major blow to Britons hoping to sail, advising against all cruise ship travel. On July 16, the FCO revised its advice once again and gave the green light to river cruises , which are considered lower risk than their ocean counterparts, due to shorter itineraries and fewer passengers on board, meaning new health and safety protocols are easier to manage.
I know that everyone is working around the clock to adapt to the new landscape we find ourselves in, and are making every effort to keep customers informed with updated information, even as developments are seeming to occur so rapidly. Our customers should feel assured that our industry remains focused on their safety, health and well-being. Viking was the first cruise operator to announce it was suspending its river and ocean cruises for a temporary period on March 11, closely followed by Princess Cruises.
Practically all other major cruise lines then made similar announcements. That is why we have developed a comprehensive health and safety concept for all Amadeus ships that further extends our safety standards, which have always been very high.

They intended the song to have a “Celtic feel to it”, and overdubbed their vocals. In fact the song’s got nothing to do with romance or ships; it’s an account of mankind’s spiritual odyssey through life on his way to freedom and fulfillment with the Supreme Being. Issued as a single, the song reached No. The first single from the album, “Sailing” afforded Stewart an international hit notably in the UK where “Sailing” was No.

This innovative regatta chronograph appeals to experienced sailors and enthusiasts alike. With its unique programmable countdown with a mechanical memory and on-the-fly synchronization, the Yacht-Master II lays claim to a proud place in the prestigious line of Rolex Professional watches. Countdown to the race As in any contest of speed, precision is of the essence. This flexibility is one of the major assets of the Yacht-Master II; its development was a considerable technological challenge.
The programming can be mechanically memorised. Ring Command bezel Rolex achieved perfection when it turned its attention to redefining the purpose and functionality of the bezel. Typically, a bezel operates independently from the internal mechanism; however, the Ring Command bezel in the Yacht-Master II regatta chronograph operates in conjunction with it.
As comfortable at sea as aboard a sailboat, the Yacht-Master combines character and performance. The waterproof and robust qualities of this model make it the ideal watch for water sports and sailing in particular. The Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master is the only Professional model offered in three sizes: 42, 40 and 37 mm.
The raised polished numerals and graduations stand out clearly against a matt, sand-blasted background.

But, determined to exhaust every opportunity to get sailors on the water this season, the Club has pivoted once again, moving the Annual Regatta to the first weekend in October where it will include the Melges IC37 National Championship, which was originally scheduled for those dates. The Annual Regatta, North America’s oldest regular sailing competition, was first run in , and has been sailed on an annual basis since, with the occasional pause for national or global crises.
The last time the Annual Regatta was canceled was , due to the Presidential and Gubernatorial decrees of mourning that followed the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy on June 6, Since the Club acquired its Harbour Court Clubhouse overlooking Newport Harbor, the Annual Regatta has been a fixture at the start of the Rhode Island sailing season, usually taking place the first or second weekend in June.
But unique times demand creative solutions. So for , it’ll be the last regatta of the summer season. And it will include some smaller one-design classes not traditionally invited to the Annual Regatta, specifically Sonars, Stars and Shields. The other remaining events on the Club’s regatta calendar – Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex September 23 to 26 and the Queen’s Cup September 27 – remain as scheduled.
There will be no on-shore social activity for any of the Club’s regattas.
Welcome to Lovesail – Sailing Community
Since first announcing the postponement of the Race from May to September, the Club has been exploring every avenue with all relevant authorities to keep the race alive. However, running the race to guarantee Covid-Compliance to protect the safety of staff and volunteers, as well as the many thousand competitors, has proved impossible. As sailing restrictions have eased, it appeared that safety on the water was becoming less of an issue, but sadly, with Round the Island being one of the UK’s largest sporting events, achieving shoreside Covid compliance within current government guidelines is simply not achievable.
The Club is immensely grateful for the guidance it has received in helping it come to this decision, especially that from the RYA and the Isle of Wight Council. I am sure many people, like myself, were looking forward to competing in the re-arranged race, but I am not surprised that the Island Sailing Club came to this tough decision. Whilst the RYA have pushed hard for the return to boating that we have enjoyed since May, we have also encouraged the boating community to be considerate and conservative.

Brilliant for beginners. Various clients have said that we should stress the amount of tuition that you will receive on these weekends, as in their experience, more teaching was delivered than they expected. However, it must be stressed, you decide whether to get involved and at what level. It really is up to you to do as much or as little as you want in terms of running the boat. All practical aspects are covered along with theoretical areas to do with passage planning and local pilotage looking at the charts and reference material.
You are guaranteed to learn a lot.
